Are you too young to feel so old? The good news is that you can learn to move with more ease and comfort. The Feldenkrais Method is the best way I know of to tap into our human capacity to improve our movements.
Recently I asked ChatGPT, the artificial intelligence bot, about the Feldenkrais method. It replied:
The Feldenkrais method is a type of movement therapy that is designed to improve flexibility, coordination, and overall physical functioning. It is based on the idea that movement is a key aspect of learning and that by becoming more aware of and improving our movement patterns, we can improve our overall health and well-being. The method uses gentle, slow movements and a focus on awareness to help people improve their posture, reduce pain and tension, and increase their range of motion. It is often used to help people who have chronic pain, injuries, or other conditions that affect their movement.
Well said! I was so impressed, I asked ChatGPT for a poem about the method:
Beneath the surface, movement lies
A world of sensation, yet to rise
The Feldenkrais Method shows the way
To reach new heights, each and every day
Perhaps, it’s not great literature, but it made me smile.
